Where: Aldermaston Wharf, Padworth, Reading, Berkshire, RG7 4JS
Full time position available, 37.5 hours per week including weekends. Duties to include general marina duties, servicing, fault finding and repair of hire and private canal boats both on and off site. Applicants should be mechanically minded and have good diy knowledge of electrical, plumbing and heating principles. Familiarity with marine diesel engines, gearboxes, drive systems and other boat equipment such as inverter mains voltage and LPG Gas systems would be an advantage but is not essential as comprehensive training will be given.
Must be fit, self-motivated and able to deal effectively with customers. Marina Technicians will be required to provide cover for breakdowns on a rota basis both in and out of normal working hours. Hold a valid UK driving licence (minimum category B) with access to own transport with insurance that covers ‘business use’. This job is varied requiring flexible working and the ability to work on own initiative with minimal supervision. Ability to work weekends essential.

Hours: Friday to Monday including weekends, 1pm to 5pm.

Duties to include reception duties and administrative tasks to support the Marina Manager, marina operation, chandlery, retail sales, repairs and brokerage. To maintain work recording and stock recording, ordering and re-ordering as required to maintain the efficient operation of the business.
To be the first point of contact dealing politely and efficiently with phone calls, customers, visitors, and requests for information. Be responsible for ensuring the administrative requirements of the marina are completed accurately and to the time scales required.

We require a Manager for our Hilperton base that will include hire fleet, chandlery shop, moorings, boat sales, boat maintenance and repairs.
This challenging and exciting position requires good leadership, organisational and people management skills. The successful applicant will be responsible for the base P&L, achieving good customer satisfaction, generation of work, and all activities at this location. Must be able to work to deadlines and sometimes under pressure.
In addition to management skills, they will also require a good working knowledge of mechanical and electrical installations and all systems relevant to the inland marine industry.
Duties include implementation of safe working practices, compliance with legislation, quoting and scheduling of work, achievement of budgets, control and maintenance of staff and the administration and maintenance of records.
Weekend working required.

Part time position 30 hours per week, working five days out of seven. Weekend working involved.
Housekeeper required to ensure the housekeeping function is undertaken efficiently and effectively in support of the marina and hire fleet operations.
Also to plan the workload and lead the housekeeping team and ensure quality standards of cleaning are maintained for hire fleet, offices and other site facilities.
Ideally applicants will be fit, self-motivated, and able to deal effectively with both employees and customers.
